2027 Buick Enclave Avenir: Super Cruise Is Now Standard

August 31st, 2026 by

Hands-free driving used to be the feature you reluctantly added to a build sheet and then hoped you’d use enough to justify. For 2027, Buick settled that argument on the Enclave Avenir. Super Cruise is standard equipment now.

That’s the headline change on the 2027 Buick Enclave, and for Austin families it’s a meaningful one. The drive from Bee Cave down TX-71 and out toward Fredericksburg is exactly the kind of divided-highway mileage the system was built for, as is the daily grind up MoPac when traffic settles into a crawl.

Here’s the full picture on the 2027 Enclave at Covert Buick GMC Bee Cave: what changed, what it costs, and what the numbers mean if you’re shopping three-row SUVs in Central Texas.

What Changed on the 2027 Enclave

The Enclave was fully redesigned for 2025, so 2027 is a detail year rather than a reinvention. The detail that matters most is the ordering change on Super Cruise.

On the Avenir, Super Cruise is now standard rather than optional. That’s the single biggest reason the Avenir’s price moved for 2027, and it moved by $3,300 compared with the 2026 Avenir. Preferred and Sport Touring, by contrast, went up $200 each. On those two trims Super Cruise remains an option, ordered as a package that also brings Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and Driver Attention Assist along with it.

Beyond that, 2027 adds two paint options, Blue Onyx and Emerald Green Metallic, refreshes the Avenir interior color choices, and expands camera features across the range. Production of the 2027 model began July 20, 2026 at Lansing Delta Township Assembly in Michigan.

The 2.5L Turbo Four, and Why It Works Here

Every 2027 Enclave uses the same engine. A turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 328 horsepower, with 326 lb-ft of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available on every trim.

A four-cylinder in a three-row SUV still raises eyebrows at the curb. Drive it and the objection tends to evaporate, because 328 horsepower is a genuinely healthy number for this class and the torque arrives early enough to make merging onto US-290 a non-event. Buick’s estimates put the FWD model at 20 city and 25 highway, 22 combined. All-wheel drive comes in at 20 city and 24 highway, 21 combined.

Towing is rated up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped with the Trailering Package. That covers a mid-size boat for Lake Travis or a pair of jet skis, not a gooseneck. If your trailer is heavier than that, we should be talking about a Sierra instead.

Payload and highway manners aside, the other reason the four-cylinder works is packaging. A smaller engine leaves more of the vehicle’s length for people and cargo, which is where a three-row buyer spends their money whether they think about it that way or not.

Trim Walk and 2027 Pricing

Three trims, same ladder Buick uses across the lineup. The pricing below includes the $1,995 destination charge.

2027 Enclave trim FWD AWD Super Cruise
Preferred $48,595 $50,595 Optional
Sport Touring $52,095 $54,095 Optional
Avenir $65,295 $67,295 Standard

What the Avenir adds beyond hands-free driving is a real list, not a badge and some stitching.

  • Google built-in with Google Gemini. Native navigation and voice, no phone required to make it work properly.
  • Bose Performance audio, 16 speakers. Preferred and Sport Touring run a Bose 12-speaker system, which is nothing to apologize for either.
  • Continuous Damping Control. Adaptive damping, which is the single most noticeable upgrade on chewed-up pavement and cattle guards.
  • Heated and massaging front seats. Plus a head-up display and a panoramic sunroof.
  • AutoSense power liftgate. Useful every single time your hands are full at H-E-B.

Money-wise, the gap between Sport Touring and Avenir is the real decision on this lineup. Preferred to Sport Touring is a modest step. Sport Touring to Avenir is a different conversation, and it’s worth running against current lease and finance programs on our Buick and GMC offers page before you decide from the sticker alone.

How Super Cruise Actually Behaves

Super Cruise is hands-free, not driverless. You keep your eyes on the road and the vehicle watches you doing it through a driver attention system. When it’s engaged on a compatible road, you take your hands off the wheel and the vehicle handles steering, speed and lane position.

Coverage runs to more than 600,000 miles of compatible roads across North America, mapped with high-definition LiDAR data and supported by cameras, sensors and GPS. Lane changes work two ways. You can signal and let the system make the move, or you can enable automatic lane change and let it decide when passing is appropriate.

The Avenir pairs Super Cruise with a three-year OnStar One plan, which covers the data connectivity the system needs. After that period a paid plan is required to keep using it. Subscription pricing changes, so ask us to confirm the current rate for a 2027 vehicle rather than trusting an older figure you read somewhere.

One more thing worth knowing if you’re cross-shopping the Buick lineup: the Enclave is the only Buick that offers Super Cruise. The Envision, Envista and Encore GX don’t.

Practically speaking, the benefit shows up on the long, boring stretches. Not the fun parts of a drive. The forty minutes of I-35 that leave you stiff, or the slow crawl home when a wreck shuts a lane. Fatigue drops noticeably, and that’s the actual selling point rather than any party trick.

Space, Seats, and the Numbers Families Care About

Seven seats, arranged as two up front, two second-row captain’s chairs, and a three-place third-row bench. Those captain’s chairs are the reason a lot of parents choose this over an eight-seat competitor. Third-row access stops being a wrestling match.

Cargo comes in at 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row, 57.1 behind the second, and 97.5 with both rear rows folded. That first number is the one to focus on, because it’s the space you have with everyone actually in the vehicle. Third-row legroom measures 32.1 inches. Overall the Enclave runs 204.5 inches long, 78.8 inches wide excluding mirrors, and 69.9 inches tall, with 7.5 inches of ground clearance.

The cabin’s centerpiece is an ultrawide 30-inch diagonal display, which Buick describes as the largest in its class. It reads as one continuous panel across the dash rather than a tacked-on tablet.

Quick Answers for Austin Enclave Shoppers

Q: Do I have to pay for Super Cruise after the trial?
A: Yes. The 2027 Avenir includes a three-year OnStar One plan, and after that a paid OnStar plan is required to keep the feature active. Rates change by model year and plan tier, so confirm the current figure with us or with OnStar before you budget for it.

Q: Will Super Cruise work on my normal Austin routes?
A: On compatible divided highways, yes. That includes long stretches of the interstate and major highway corridors in the region. It will not engage on surface streets, and it is not designed to. More than 600,000 miles of road are mapped for it across North America.

Q: Can I fit three car seats across the second row?
A: Not in the second row as configured, because the Avenir and the rest of the lineup use two captain’s chairs rather than a bench. Families running three seats typically put one in the third row. Bring your seats to the store and we’ll fit them before you buy.

Q: Is 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row enough for a family trip?
A: For most Hill Country weekends, yes. It handles a stroller plus soft bags comfortably. For a week away with seven people, you’ll want a roof carrier or you’ll be folding half of the third row.

Q: Is the Avenir worth the jump from Sport Touring?
A: It depends on how much highway you drive. Standard Super Cruise, adaptive damping, the 16-speaker Bose system and Google built-in are a substantial content jump. If your miles are mostly around Bee Cave and Lakeway, Sport Touring with the Super Cruise option may serve you better.

Q: What warranty comes with a new Enclave?
A: Buick covers new vehicles with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, whichever comes first. Roadside assistance runs 5 years or 60,000 miles and operates 24/7.
